The Front Room Reset

Preparing the front room for its next chapter as a potential rental.
Oakland, CA · 2025

Project Summary

This front room reset focused on restoring flow and function to a shared living space during a period of household transition. The room had become a catch-all—holding stress, excess belongings, and unclear purpose.

In a single, focused session, we edited what no longer needed to live there and clarified how the space could better support daily life. The goal was not perfection, but relief: a room that felt usable, breathable, and ready for its next chapter.

What We Did

  • Decluttered and edited shared-use items

  • Re-zoned the room to improve circulation and clarity

  • Simplified storage to reduce daily friction

  • Reset the space to support flexibility and future use

Time & Scope

  • Approx. 5 hours

  • Single-session reset

  • No new furniture required

Why This Project Matters

This project shows how even a few intentional hours can dramatically shift how a space feels. Not every transformation needs to be large-scale to be meaningful—sometimes the most impactful work is simply making a room make sense again.
